I love love love this song.
I know I heard it when Kris Allen first sang it on American Idol, but I had forgotten about it until I heard it a couple of days ago, and I fell in love.
I'm not sure why it resonates with me so much, but I think you will love it too.

Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer
This song came on pandora yesterday.... (Kelly Clarkson radio, thank you very much.) And it brings back a couple of different memories for me. FIRST, did any of you every watch The Great Pretenders back in the day? Basically teens would get all dressed up and lip sync to songs and whoever did the best job won? Think American Idol but without the talent part. I'll admit, I loved it. Anyway. The first time I heard this song one of the contestants performed to it, and I loved it.
Fast forward a few years later, and I'm 15, and a sophomore in high school. I had been dating my first "serious" boyfriend for about a month and a half. One day in March, I received my first kiss. For me, a fifteen year old girl, it was magical. The next day, my friend, Sara, came to school with a CD of Bowling for Soup songs that she had promised me. However, she had included a "special" song as track number 1 - "Kiss Me."
I still love this song - it just makes me happy - not for the memories attached to it, but because it's just a good, fun, song.
"Kiss me, beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
The silver moon's sparkling...
So kiss me."

We are Young - fun., Glee Cast cover
How much am I obsessed with this song right now? Oh, just a lot. And I know that a lot of people will hate me for saying this, but I love the Glee version quite a bit more than the original. And I LOVE the performance of it on Glee. I'm such a cheeseball for saying this - but the performance is just what I love about Glee.... Welcoming the three (ok, four) girls back, and just having a good time with each other. Ok, ok, I got teary-eyed :)
"So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I'll carry you home
Tonight, we are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
"So if by the time the bar closes
And you feel like falling down
I'll carry you home
Tonight, we are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun'

I Go Back - Kenny Chesney
Oh... This song. A friend of mine posted it on her facebook a few days ago and said something like, "It takes me back to my junior year of high school. every time." And I so agree. Actually it reminds me of both junior and senior years of high school. Most Kenny Chesney songs do though, but this once especially, since the theme is "going back."
I had an amazing high school experience. Lots of drama, lots of dating, lots of fun. I don't think I would change a thing. It taught my little 15/16/17 year old self a lot.
"Well, I heard it today and I couldn't help but sing along
Cause every time I hear that song...
I go back.
Livin' life with no sense of time...
Wishin' time would stop right in it's tracks..."

Mr. Know It All - Kelly Clarkson
Let's start again and get this thing going... Shall we?
This song I love. And let's be honest - I love Kelly. I have ever since her first days on American Idol. I cried when she won and sang A Moment Like This on stage. So, when I saw she had a new single out (not so new now...), I had to listen to it. And I was hooked. And it's also my current ringtone. Also I think she looks great in this video.
Listen and love.
"You ain't got the right to tell me
When and where to go, no right to tell me.
Acting like you know me lately...
No, you don't know a thing about me."

Here (in your arms) - hellogoodbye
The other day I was driving in the car (like almost all of my posts start...) and I had popped in a random mix CD from a few years ago. Here (in your arms) came on and I started giggling to myself because it reminded me of dances in high school. I have some great memories of our group of friends, encircled together, singing this song at the top of our lungs and making up actions as we did so. Good times.
It's a catchy songs, and the lyrics aren't too bad either - it makes me think of when K and I were dating, driving around in the car, singing together :)
"I like where we are, when we drive in your car
I like, where we are.... Here."

Truly, Madly, Deeply - Savage Garden
(I'm trying to catch up with post ideas from the last few weeks...)
A few weeks ago I was driving to work, listening to the radio. And what song came on? "Truly, Madly, Deeply." What a song. I hadn't heard it in years, and I was thrilled to hear it on the radio.
And so I thought I would share it with you, here. Because honestly? Who doesn't love this song?
"I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish, I'll be your fantasy...
I'l be your hope, I'll be your love, be everything that you need."
"I love you more with every breath,
Truly, madly, deeply do..."
