Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer

This song came on pandora yesterday.... (Kelly Clarkson radio, thank you very much.) And it brings back a couple of different memories for me. FIRST, did any of you every watch The Great Pretenders back in the day? Basically teens would get all dressed up and lip sync to songs and whoever did the best job won? Think American Idol but without the talent part. I'll admit, I loved it. Anyway. The first time I heard this song one of the contestants performed to it, and I loved it.

Fast forward a few years later, and I'm 15, and a sophomore in high school. I had been dating my first "serious" boyfriend for about a month and a half. One day in March, I received my first kiss. For me, a fifteen year old girl, it was magical. The next day, my friend, Sara, came to school with a CD of Bowling for Soup songs that she had promised me. However, she had included a "special" song as track number 1 - "Kiss Me."

I still love this song - it just makes me happy - not for the memories attached to it, but because it's just a good, fun, song.

"Kiss me, beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance
The silver moon's sparkling...
So kiss me."
